The three Kings Day in Majorca,Spain!

What is Three Kings Day Like in Majorca,Spain!

It is the most exciting day for Spanish children!

Three Kings Day, or "Dia de Reyes" in Mallorca, Spanish, which falls on January 6 every year, is the day that the children of Spain and Hispanic countries get presents for Christmas. Much like children from other parts of the world eagerly await Santa Claus on Christmas Eve night, the same can be said on the eve of January 5, when children leave their shoes by the door with hopes that the three kings will leave them gifts in their shoes when they wake the following morning.

The day is also celebrated by eating the "Roscon de Reyes",  that is decorated to look like a crown that a king would wear. It is often topped with glazed fruits, representing the jewels on a crown. Buried inside there is two figurines that are usually a small ceramic king and a bean. The one who plays the king, great, good luck!  but who touches the bean will have to pay the "Roscon de Reyes". So, the one who cuts and distributes in each house always has the eyes of the "roscon de Reyes", that the bean does not touch me!
